Southern Parkway, Abuja
Assistant site engineer with SETRACO on 21.05 km of federal highway: culverts, retaining walls, contractor oversight and material control.
As a student intern with SETRACO I worked as an assistant site engineer on the Southern Parkway in Abuja, which runs 21.05 km from Christian Centre (S8/S9) to Ring Road 1 across phases I and II.
I assisted with the analysis and design of the culverts and retaining walls, helped oversee construction and monitor contractor work against the specification and safety standards, and kept records of materials brought to site and the equipment used. It is where I learned that materials are money.
